Lankan CRYsis
The 'tear drop' island is shedding its tears again. It just lost its foriegn minister Lakshman Kadirgamar for LTTE's bullets. Its almost 3-4 years since the tigers killed any high-profile figures. They are again to their gory form but this time with the help of a sniper rather than their all famous 'human' bombs. What will be the fallout of this killing? Is this the beginning of the end of three year old ceasefire? Will it trigger another war in the already ravaged country?
Time and again the tigers have used the ceasefire period to augment their artilleries and wage another war with the army. Intelligence report even suggests that tigers have created their own air-force in the interim period. Tigers will go down in the history for being the first terrorist organisation in the world to have an exclusive air force.
Even after being banned in many countries like India,US,UK etc. the tigers haven't learnt their lessons properly. Its pity that their 20 yr old struggle havent yeilded any results and still they are adopting the path of violence as the only way to achieve their objective. Prabhakaran knows very well that Sri Lankan govt will not allow an independent tamil nation in the island at any cost. But his insistence on the same old notion shows that he is still not satisfied with the amount of blood shed by innocent tamils (approx 65000 ppl killed). Tigers should learn that the world has changed since 9/11 and their bombings will not be taken lightly anymore. They should evolve a time plan to stop their killings and bombings. The tigers will start thinking of alternatives if only the Lankan tamils settled abroad stop supporting / funding terrorism in their homeland. Until the funds dry up for Tigers and international community puts pressure on them to renounce violence, Sri Lanka will continue to bleed.....
