Vijay KHANth

Based on popular request from our blog community (esp Arjuna and others), Captain had decided to don the role of S R Khan in the Lux ad for the South Indian audience. Here is the picture of our captain enjoying his bath in the bath tub filled with rose petals.

trivia 1:
At first during the ad shoot everyone was stunned to see the fair body of our captian. Then Vijaykanth revealed that he used 'fair and lovely' regularly to attain this amount of fairness, but the cream was totally unfair to him and turned everything except the face into fairness. So he is now contemplating to change his nickname from 'karuppu' MGR to 'black and white' MGR.

trivia 2:
The producers of this ad had a tough time with our captian during the shooting. On the day of shooting, captian was in his usual ferocious mood of killing Paki terrorists. They were unable to control him from kicking the water in the tub. They tried every method to control his legs but all failed. Their repeated attempts to educate him that it is just an ad shoot also failed. And atlas they used 'special' Fevicol to fix his legs to the bath tub and then the shooting started.

Now its the time for Captain to reveal his beauty secret to the world. He ignores the standard script used by the Lux ad makers and decides to use his own script.

Take 1:
"Eppo namma naadu ulaga porulaadharathil pannandaavathu eduthula irukku. Indiyala ellarum Luchh (thatshow he tells Lux) soapu ushe pannanum. Appo thaan namma naadu munnaerum. Naama ellam daily Luchh poattu kulichomna nalla azhukku pogum. Ennoda body paarunga (shows his fair body) azhukku poi sutham aayedichu. Vaangunga Luchh"

Now the Ad director has gone half mad with our captains script.
Ad Director: sir. this ad is for only 2 mins not for 2 hrs. Evlo periya dialogue vendam sir. Chinnadha sollunga please. '
Captain: Naan chinnadha sonna en rasigargal othukka maatanga. But I will dry my pest (try my best).

" Veezhvathu namm jattyaga irundhalum naam poaduvathu Luchh'aga irukkattum"

Cut!!
AD director is happy now and okays the ad. This ad eventually grabs the topmost TRP ratings and has been nominated for the best ads of 2005.

trivia 3:
Initially the Lux ad makers were approached by T Rajendar to perform in this ad. But they were scared after doing a screen test for him. An exclusive snap from the screen test is shown below.
